Kaitlin Pelletier
Studio Director
Kaitlin has been teaching dance for about 15 years. She graduated from Sherry Walsh Academy of Dance Arts and is a fully certified member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing with Associate Teaching diplomas in Jazz, Tap and Ballet. She also gained Membership Status after completing a comprehensive exam in Jazz though BATD. She is also an Ontario Certified Elementary School Teacher. Her extensive training includes ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and tap.
As a student, Kaitlin competed and traveled to many competitions and conventions in Canada and the United States and was accepted into reputable programs hosted by the National Ballet of Canada, as well as the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. She was also one of 20 dancers asked across Canada and the United States to attend the Hollywood Summer Tour in Los Angeles, California. Here, she had the opportunity to work with top industry choreographers at the Millennium Dance Complex. She has attended teaching workshops and conventions to broaden her dance vocabulary including but not limited to BATD, NRG Dance Project, Jump, Nuvo and the New York City Dance Teacher Summit. Kaitlin’s choreography has won many prestigious awards, choreography awards, and overall awards at various competitions across Canada and the United States. Her past and current students have won many prestigious titles and have been accepted into the National Ballet School, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Interlochen Center of the Arts, and Quinte Ballet School of Canada. Many have also been invited to attend other professional programs and intensives that have allowed them to travel across North America.

Christina Trevisan
Studio Director
Christina discovered her passion for dance at a young age at Sherry Walsh Academy of Dance Arts. During her years of training, she developed extensive technical and artistic skills, allowing her to be an extremely well-rounded and versatile dancer in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and tap. She graduated with Professional Associate Teaching Diplomas in jazz, tap, and ballet through the British Association of Teachers of Dancing. She has also recently gained Membership Status after completing a comprehensive exam in Jazz though BATD. Her love for children led her to Lakehead University, where she completed the Concurrent Education Program and graduated with a combined Bachelor of Arts /Bachelor of Education degree. Christina remains in good standing as an Ontario Certified Elementary School Teacher, and also works as an occasional teacher with the Huron Superior Catholic District School Board. While in Thunder Bay, she had the opportunity to teach dance at various dance studios, further developing her craft and teaching methods. In Thunder Bay, Christina also auditioned and was one of few dancers chosen to attend the 5678 New York City Professional Summer Tour. She continues to attend workshops and conventions to enhance her skills Christina’s award winning choreography has won many overall high scores and special awards at competitions both in Canada and the United States. Her past and current students have been accepted into the National Ballet School, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Orlando Ballet School, Interlochen Center of the Arts, and Quinte Ballet School of Canada. They have also earned titles such as Miss Petite Dance, Mr. Teen Dance, and Runner Up titles to Miss Petite Dance, Miss Junior Dance as well as scholarships to invitationals such as the KAR New York City Scholarship and the Power Pak Convention.

Vanessa Lauszus
Faculty
Vanessa began studying dance at the young age of three with Sherry Walsh Academy of Dance Arts. She has trained in all styles of dance but has a passion for ballet and modern. At a young age, Vanessa attended both the National Ballet of Canada and Royal Winnipeg Ballet summer programs and was offered acceptance into their full-time curriculum. Vanessa has earned her teachers diploma in ballet and jazz with the British Association of Teachers of Dancing. Vanessa is also certified as a Dancing for Birth Instructor. Upon graduating with a BSc in Nursing through Laurentian University, Vanessa moved to Hamilton Ontario. It was there she had the pleasure of teaching ballet at the Hamilton Conservatory of the Arts, under director Vitek Wincza, for five years. During her career, Vanessa was privileged to attend a ballet workshop taught by the prestigious Karen Kain. Vanessa strives for professional development as a dancer and instructor by attending the yearly Ideas Exchange (4 day) extensive seminar at the National Ballet of Canada. Vanessa is currently a member of renowned composer Robert Bruce’s Classical Nouveaux Ensemble. Alongside Louis Laberge-Cote and Claire Wolanski, she has danced in performances throughout Southern Ontario. The company director Robert Bruce strives to one day take the program overseas to Europe. She loves being a member of the EDF Team!

Amelia Stuetz

Amelia started dancing at the Sherry Walsh Academy of Dance Arts in Sault Ste. Marie, ON in 2002. There, she studied a variety of dance genres including jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, modern, pointe, and hip hop. In 2011, Amelia was selected to be a member of the Canadian National Showdance Team to share the world stage with more than 10 other countries at the International Dance Organization’s World Showdance Championships in Riesa, Germany. Amelia graduated SWADA in 2014 with her professional teaching certificates in jazz, tap, and ballet from the British Association of Teachers of Dancing and remains in good standing today. During her years at SWADA Amelia taught classes and choreographed a number of award winning performances at several international dance competitions. She then moved to Ottawa to study Criminology at the University of Ottawa where she was also a member of the U of O GeeGees Competitive Dance Team. In April 2016, Amelia was accepted into the highly intensive Commercial Dance Program at George Brown College in Toronto, but decided, rather, to return to Sault Ste. Marie and join the EDF faculty. In addition to teaching the students at EDF, Amelia also teaches the dance curriculum and many Algoma District School Board elementary schools. She is so happy to be a part of EDF and to share her love of dance and teaching with many children throughout Sault Ste. Marie!
